Media Relations

Please note guests are contracted for press conferences only. Any individual interviews requests will need to be submitted well in advance to the Media Department, and will need to go through the representative(s) of the requested guest(s). Please note we cannot guarantee that additional interviews will be granted.

While several of our guests are available via social media, such as Twitter and Facebook pages, all media requesting interviews are strongly encouraged to make their requests through the?Media department. Any requests made outside of Polaris cannot necessarily be?accommodated?with the Polaris schedule, as our guests’ main priority are their convention duties (autographs, q&a, photographs, and any special events planned.) In addition, if it is brought to our attention that a guest feels like they are being badgered on social media, any request coming from that media outlet or person will be denied.

Media Representatives are encouraged from the following categories:

  • Editorial Representatives
  • Freelance Journalists
  • Online Reporters
  • Broadcast (TV & Radio) Journalists
  • Print Media and Newswire Reporters
  • Press members with press cards

If you are interested in attending Polaris 26 as media, please contact our Media Relations Department at media@tcon.ca to receive our press accreditation form. We ask that you only request passes for legitimate working media (i.e. not friends & family).

Unfortunately, Amateur Podcasters, Bloggers and Fanzines (other than club magazines) may not qualify for Media accreditation unless they are affiliated with another news source. However, they will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. You are still encouraged to register for membership with Polaris.

Please see the Media Guidelines page for additional information.
