Hotel Party Policy
For the consideration and comfort of all our guests, the Sheraton Parkway Toronto North normally does not allow any guests to utilize his or her room/suite for any purpose other than overnight accommodations. However, guests who are members of Polaris will be allowed to use his or her room/suite for parties during the weekend under the following guidelines:
- All parties held in your room/suite must be registered with Polaris in advance. There are no exceptions. Any parties occurring during the weekend that have not been registered in advance will be shut down without recompense to the organizers.
- You will be held responsible for making certain that all Hotel and Convention rules and policies are followed before, during, and after the party.
- A $50 deposit per day must be given at check in by either cash or credit card. This deposit will be held and returned only after the hotel has verified that there are no damages or that no extra clean up is needed in the guestroom. There are no exceptions.
- You are allowed to place your party signage throughout the hotel provided it has been approved and stamped at the Info Desk. You may ONLY use one of the adhesives listed in the confirmation email you received when your party was approved; you are responsible for all damages incurred if one of the correct adhesives is not used.
- You are responsible for checking the age of anyone being served alcohol at your event.
- You are responsible for making sure that food and beverages do not leave your room at any time during the party. Ontario law prohibits open containers (bottles, cups, etc.) of alcohol in public areas, including hallways. Hotel Security WILL respond accordingly, including removing the offenders from the property.
- You are responsible for the safety of all party guests, including any unsupervised minors.
- Parties are responsible for their own room. However, you are also asked to keep an eye on the hallway outside your door. If people start trying to create a "hall party", please ask them to move along, or notify Convention and/or Hotel Security if it becomes a serious problem.
- You are responsible for preventing excessive noise. Upon any noise complaint, the offending party/event will be given one warning by Convention Security. Any complaints after this warning WILL result in Hotel Security shutting the party down. Any further noise will result in your removal from the hotel property with no refunds.
- If your party requires large amounts of supplies (cases of pop, alcohol, or any other supplies in excess of a single arm load), you must make arrangements with Polaris to unload these supplies at the hotel loading dock. No large or overloaded carts of any kind can enter through the main doors of the hotel; there are no exceptions.
- Quiet time is at eleven p.m. (23:00). This does not mean that your party has to end at 11:00 but rather that it is your responsibility to make sure your party does not disturb the rooms or hallways near your room with excess noise, as per the point above.
- You, the registered guest(s), are responsible for all damages to your room. You will be charged for any damages in the form of replacement costs or additional cleaning costs.
- Any guests breaking this policy may be asked to leave the premises and cannot either expect or demand any refund of the room/suite charge or convention membership. The guest will also be responsible for his or her own transportation from the hotel property. The Hotel and Polaris will not incur any additional expenses.
We hope this does not cause you any inconveniences as it is for your safety, security and comfort as well as the comfort of all our guests. You will be expected to sign a form which states the above when you check in at the hotel, and failure to sign this form may prevent registration at the hotel.
