A/V Requirements F.A.Q.
We understand that A/V equipment is an important part of panels. Therefore, we have put together this F.A.Q. section to answer all your questions.

1.  What is A/V?
A/V stands for Audio/Visual equipment. Panelists may request such things as digital projectors, televisions, and DVD/VCR players for their panels.

2.  How can I request A/V for my panel(s)?
Please pass along your request to the Programming Team by sending an e-mail to panelist@tcon.ca . You should let us know a.s.a.p of any A/V requests. The deadline for A/V requests is May 31, 2009. If you have not received a confirmation back, please contact us.

3.  What happens if I realize I want A/V for my panels after the deadline?
If we can fit your request into the schedule, and if we have the equipment, we might be able to facilitate your request. To ensure that you receive the A/V you need, please ensure you give us your requests well ahead of time. Again, the deadline is May 31, 2009.

4.  Why is the A/V request deadline on May 31, 2009?
We need at least a month to put together the A/V order. Until we know how many items have been requested, we cannot place the order. We also need to know in advance, so we can build the A/V schedule.

5.  Why is it sometimes you can’t provide panelists with all their A/V requests?
We have a limited budget. Unfortunately we cannot order a multitude of TV and VCRs, as we just don’t have the money.

6.  Can I request Microphones for my panels?
Most of our panel rooms are not large enough to require any amplification. As long as you remember to project your voice, you should not need to use a microphone. If you feel your panel absolutely requires a microphone, please send a request to the Programming Heads at panelist@tcon.ca and we will check to see if your request can be accommodated. Remember, we have a limited budget, so not all requests will be able to be accepted. If your request is approved, we cannot provide the room more than one microphone.

Please note: we will not provide wireless or lapel microphones.

7.  Will you have DVD players or LCD projectors available?
Yes, both are available.

Note that we DO NOT supply computers for the LCD projector. If you have a presentation on computer, you must supply your own.

8.  A/V List (Updated March 2007)
If there is something you don't see here that you think could be ordered, please send a request to panelist@tcon.ca and we will check to see if your request can be accommodated.  Remember, we have a limited budget, so not all requests will be able to be accepted. We would be happy to help out any panelists that can bring their own equipment with things like screens and extension cables.

Please make your A/V Requests early, or else something may not get placed on order if it isn't being requested.   You can make your requests for A/V Equipment for your specific panel to panelist@tcon.ca
