Charity Auction (ARCHIVE ONLY)
Our Charity Auction takes place Sunday July 13, in Harry’s Bar, from 9 am to 12 noon. Check below for some of the exciting items we’ve managed to obtain for this year’s auction. Have something you wish to donate? Contact us at charity@tcon.ca.

We are pleased to announce that Gilda’s Club Greater Toronto is now the official charity of Polaris.  This means that the proceeds of our charity auction will help support this worthy cause. After many years of supporting Ronald McDonald House, the decision was made to look for another charity to benefit from our members generosity. Given that 1 in 3 people in the GTA will, at some point in their lives, be diagnosed with cancer, and most people know someone who has been touched by cancer, Gilda's Club Greater Toronto seemed a great choice!

For those who aren’t familiar with it, Gilda’s Club Greater Toronto offers support in a home-like, non-residential setting for those touched by cancer. Gilda’s Club Worldwide was founded in 1991, in memory of comedienne and Second City alumni Gilda Radner, who lost her life to ovarian cancer.   Founded by Joanna Bull, Gilda’s cancer psychotherapist, Gene Wilder, and a number of Gilda’s other friends, the first Gilda’s Club opened its signature red door in New York City in 1995. It is a non profit, charitable organization, where membership is free. All funding comes from private individuals, corporations, and foundations. Since 1995 close to 30 more have opened, including the one here in Toronto. Gilda’s Club Greater Toronto opened in 2001 and has been offering support to people touched by with cancer ever since. Gilda’s Club helps men, women, teens and children by offering them a meeting place. It also welcomes friends and families. It helps people with cancer to build a social and emotional group to help them throughout their cancer treatment.  Gilda’s Club offers networking groups, lectures, workshops, and social events to its members.  Gilda’s Club Greater Toronto has a competitive Dragon Boat team, a children’s camp program, and financial planning classes just a few of the activities, free to all members.
